Uganda Birding Safari

Uganda is one of Africa's most rewarding birding destinations, with more than 1,000 recorded bird species spread across an extraordinary mosaic of tropical forests, vast wetlands, savannahs, lakeshores, and the misty mountains of the Albertine Rift. From iconic Shoebills to rare forest specialists, every region offers a different birding adventure and a new story from the wild.

The prime birding season in Uganda runs from June to September, when drier conditions make forest trails, wetlands, and savannah reserves easier to explore. For keen birders, November to April is equally rewarding, as the arrival of migratory species adds even greater diversity to Uganda's exceptional birdlife.
